Barcelona

Catalonia is divided into four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. The city of Barcelona 10 districts.

With its port on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is surely a typical Mediterranan city with a Mediterranean climate: mild, dry winters and warm humid summers. In winter the average temperature is 10 °C (50 °F). and the hottest summer months average 30 °C (86 °F).

Barcelona History

Catalonia was ruled by the Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, then the Moors and the Catalan culture began to take shape.

Barcelona: Sea Port

As a sea Port, Barcelona was uniquely located in which to effect trade and conquest of locations in the Mediterranean including Sicily and Sardinia. Today the port encompasses 3 square miles of bristling activity for imports and exports.

Barcelona hosted the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.
